In 2007, Tom Ford's perfume collection was replenished with the new unisex fragrance Oud Wood. This oriental woody perfume is built around the tarry smoky aroma of oud wood, better known as agar wood. This rather rare and expensive component in combination with oriental spices has a strict and sophisticated character, its enveloping warmth captivates and draws attention to its owner. On women, the aroma acquires a delicate sweetish tint; on men, astringency and noble wood prevail.
Perfume Oud Wood reveals an exotic mixture of heated wood agar and rosewood, spreading around a resinous balsamic aroma with a slight touch of sweetness. Hot cardamom and spicy Sichuan pepper give the sound a harsh astringency. In the heart of the composition, a woody bouquet is complemented by the noble accords of sandalwood and vetiver. The final notes sound unusually sensual and languid thanks to amber, creamy vanilla and tonka bean.
